Small Dog Specialists — Personal Pet Care
EXTRAS

Small Dog Specialists

Toy and small breeds get specialized attention — protected from larger dogs, lifted up on the couch, and never overwhelmed.

Overview

Small dogs are not small big dogs. They have different play styles, different risk profiles, and different emotional needs. We structure their stays accordingly.

When small dogs are in the home, big dogs are managed separately at high-energy moments — no roughhousing, no chase games, no risk of an accidental injury.

Who it's for

Dogs under 25 lbs.

Great fit
  • Toy and small breeds (Yorkies, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, Maltese, etc.)
  • Small dogs with no big-dog experience or bad past experiences
  • Small seniors needing extra protection

What's included

  • Small-dog-only play sessions
  • Lap time, every day
  • Climate-controlled indoor potty options when it's snowing
  • Soft surfaces and ramps to protect little joints

How it works

  1. 1. Free consultation

We meet you and your dog in our home for about 30 minutes. You walk the space, see the yard, ask questions, and we watch how your dog settles in.

  2. 2. Reserve your dates

Once we've confirmed it's a fit, we hold your dates with a small deposit and send over a simple intake form covering food, meds, vet info, and routine.

  3. 3. Drop-off

Bring your dog, their food, and anything that smells like home. We'll do a final routine review and you're free to go — no long goodbyes needed.

  4. 4. Daily updates

Photo and text updates every day. Reach out anytime; we're happy to send more if you want them.

  5. 5. Pickup

Pick up a happy, exercised dog — or use our pickup & delivery service and we'll bring them home to you.

Why it works

  • Small dogs aren't just shrunk-down big dogs. They need different care.
  • Mixed-size kennels frequently cause stress injuries to small dogs even when no fight happens.
  • Lap time is medicine for most toy breeds.

  • Big-dog separation during meals, play, and high-energy moments
  • Indoor potty options on cold or icy days
