Senior Dog Care — Personal Pet Care
EXTRAS

Senior Dog Care

Soft beds, short walks, medication on schedule, and a quiet room away from the rowdy young dogs. Senior dogs deserve a slower vacation, too.

Gentle care for grey muzzles.

Overview

Senior dogs need a different kind of stay: predictable, quiet, and built around their specific medical and mobility needs. They don't need to be 'integrated' into a play group — they need somewhere comfortable to nap and someone who notices when something's off.

We've cared for dogs through arthritis, vestibular disease, kidney disease, cognitive decline, and end-of-life. Tell us what's going on and we'll build the stay around it.

Who it's for

Dogs 9+ years old or any age with mobility, cognitive, or medical needs.

Great fit
  • Senior dogs who don't tolerate kennel environments
  • Dogs on multiple daily medications or sub-Q fluids
  • Dogs with mobility limitations needing ramps and orthopedic beds

What's included

  • Medication administration included (oral, eye/ear drops, sub-Q fluids)
  • Quieter sleeping area on request
  • Shorter, more frequent walks
  • Coordination with your vet if needed
  • Orthopedic beds and ramps available

How it works

  1. 1. Free consultation

We meet you and your dog in our home for about 30 minutes. You walk the space, see the yard, ask questions, and we watch how your dog settles in.

  2. 2. Reserve your dates

Once we've confirmed it's a fit, we hold your dates with a small deposit and send over a simple intake form covering food, meds, vet info, and routine.

  3. 3. Drop-off

Bring your dog, their food, and anything that smells like home. We'll do a final routine review and you're free to go — no long goodbyes needed.

  4. 4. Daily updates

Photo and text updates every day. Reach out anytime; we're happy to send more if you want them.

  5. 5. Pickup

Pick up a happy, exercised dog — or use our pickup & delivery service and we'll bring them home to you.

Why it works

  • Older dogs decompensate fast in stressful environments. Home stays make a measurable difference.
  • Familiar food + quiet routine + close observation = fewer surprises.
  • We watch for the small changes — appetite, gait, behavior — that signal something needs attention.

Safety & standards

  • Daily appetite and water-intake monitoring
  • Established relationship with a local emergency vet
  • Written daily log of meds, meals, walks, and behavior

What to bring

  • Enough of your dog's regular food for the full stay, plus a day or two extra
  • Any medications in original containers with written instructions
  • Leash, collar or harness with current ID tags
  • A bed or blanket that smells like home (optional but loved)
  • 1–2 favorite toys or a chew
  • Vet contact info and proof of current vaccines (rabies, DHPP, Bordetella)
  • Joint supplements or arthritis meds with dosing schedule
  • Mobility aids your dog uses at home (slings, ramps, no-slip mats)
