Personal Pet Care has run from Gretchen's Southeast Aurora home since 2010. One caregiver, one home, one consistent routine — that's the whole model.
Gretchen started Personal Pet Care because she couldn't find boarding that felt right for her own dogs. The big commercial kennels were loud, sterile, and staffed by strangers on rotating shifts. The hobbyist sitters were lovely but couldn't handle medication, special diets, or anxious dogs.
So she built what she wished existed: cage-free care in a real home, with the same owner on-site overnight, every night. Headcount kept low on purpose. Photos every day. Free consultations because trust isn't something you can rush.
Fifteen years later, she's still doing it the same way — because it still works. Some of the families who booked in 2011 are now on their third dog with her.

Keeping our headcount small lets us actually know each dog instead of managing a crowd. We turn down bookings to protect that.
Slow trust
Free consultations exist because trust can't be rushed. Most of our long-term clients took two visits to commit. That's fine.
Honest fit
Cage-free isn't right for every dog. We say so when it isn't, and we name a place we'd send our own dog instead.
Boring reliability
We've answered the phone the same way for fifteen years. The boring stuff is the whole point.
